Set twenty years into the future, Duncan grapples with the same issues as today—with one major difference—everyone welcomes a mandated chip for ease of coping with life’s hardships. Duncan desperately wants to win the girl of his dreams, a football scholarship, and approval from his dad—all of which he’ll achieve with the help of the chip—or so he thinks.

But tragedy befalls his sister, and he’s almost killed—plunging him underground to hide. He discovers the chip is not what it seems, and he must either choose to insert it and hope the safety and security it promises outweighs the sinister effects that comes with it or reject the chip—and risk his life for truth and freedom.
